Windmill 'De Windhond' is a round stone windmill that dates back to 1755. Now a days the mill is kept in good condition and it’s a important part of the city skyline.
The mill is situated on a hill that originally was part of a stronghold. This was part of the city walls of the old town of Woerden. The windhond is 25.2 meters high. In 1984 the mill was restored and it has been in use ever since. The flour from the mill is sold at the local market. The interior of the mill is mostly in authentic state. The mill grinds grain to flour in a professional and craft manner. The products from the mill can be purchased in the mill too. There is a variety of pancakemix, wholegrain flour, cakemix and breadmix.

Expert guides give tours on Wednesday’s between 14.00 and 16.00.
Every Friday (if the blades are turning) and on Saturday the miller is present from 13.30 till 16.00.

Entry fee is €2 p.p. children up to 12 years old receive the tour for free.
You can visit the mill shop for free, where all the products are available.
