Roman Limes route

This route takes you through the Roman history of Woerden. You start at the entrance of the Roman castellum Laurium and walk past various locations where archaeological finds have been made. Directions:

• The starting point of the route is at the entrance to the Stadsmuseum woerden (Kerkstraat).
• Walk along side the church on Kerkstraat to Kerkplein.
• Then go to the entrance of the parking garage (next to the Hema) and descend with the elevator to floor -1.
• Leave the parking garage via the Meulmansweg exit and turn right outside.
• Follow the Kruittorenweg to the windmill and follow the bend to the left towards the Wilhelminaweg.
• Turn right onto Julianastraat and turn left again at the end (near the Singel).
• Walk back via the Prins Bernhardlaan to the Wilhelminaweg and cross over the Havenstraat.
• Turn right at the Grote Steeg and at the end turn left again into the Wagenstraat.
• At the end, turn right into Rijnstraat, direction Kasteel. Turn left before the castle into Plantsoen.
• Follow the road to the top and walk along the Hoge Wal into the Nieuwstraat and turn left onto the Meulmansweg.
• The tour ends at the entrance of the Library.
